Neutrality
Three rules that bind us.
A marketplace built by a broker has to answer one question before any other broker will list on it: what stops the house from winning? These are the rules, written as rules rather than reassurance.
Rule 1
We never contact your clients.
A listing carries no landlord or tenant details, and we never ask for them. Your seller’s identity is shown to a buyer only after that buyer signs the NDA and the seller accepts it. We do not market to anyone whose name appears in a deal room, and we do not sell or share contact data.
Rule 2
We never broker deals.
RentRolli is not a party to any sale. We take no commission, no success fee and no cut of the price. We do not advise either side, we do not negotiate, and we do not introduce buyers to sellers outside the platform. The deal room is where the two sides talk; we are not in it.
Rule 3
Our co-founder’s brokerage pays the same prices and gets the same placement.
Tomas Oliver, who built RentRolli, runs a rent roll brokerage. His listings pay the same tiers, are sorted by the same rule, and are scored by the same method as anyone else’s. Nobody at RentRolli can type a score in or move a listing up the list. His listings are labelled as his wherever they appear.
How the rules are kept
Prices
Every tier and upgrade price is one number in the code, applied to every account. There is no discount path.
Placement
The marketplace is sorted Boost first, then Verified, then Listed, and within each by the sort the buyer chooses. There is no other ordering.
Scores
Only the scoring engine writes a score. The admin tools have no field for it. Every stored score carries the version of the method that made it.
Payments
Every payment is recorded against its listing with the tier bought, the amount and the Stripe reference.
How the score is made is on the method page. What we store, and where, is on the data page.
If you believe any of these rules has been broken, write to hello@rentrolli.com and it will be answered by Luke, not Tom.
